Building Alaska Scores Big on Sunday Nights for DIY Network

Denver, Colorado - Officials from Orion Entertainment, America's leading lifestyle television producer, announced that a Sunday night October 19, 2014 marathon of Building Alaska set new ratings marks. And the 8:00pm timeslot garnered the strongest rating of the night with an unprecedented .37 in the coveted male 25 - 54 demographic, ranking it as the highest-rated and most-watched Sunday night in DIY Network history.

"Great characters, off the grid construction, and an amazing landscape make this series a hit," says Orion President Chris Dorsey. "Viewers have consistently embraced this series."

Building Alaska, follows three construction teams that are each challenged with an extreme build in the middle of the wilderness. Each team is faced with unique conditions, locations, and methods of getting men and materials to their off-the-grid locations. There's building... then there's building in Alaska and every step brings challenges most in the Lower 48 could never even contemplate. Solving and designing solutions for power, plumbing, septic, food storage, bathing, water supply, bear proofing, and the like make all these builds a journey back to a primitive time when shelter was as much about survival as it was comfort.
